Photography Workshops
Digital Photography Tours/workshops in and Around Aberdyfi / Aberdovey

The area surrounding Aberdovey / Aberdyfi provides an often tranquil location packed with opportunities to improve your landscape photography.

Award-winning photographer Paul Fowles will introduce and explain the principles and techniques of landscape photography in a one-to-one course which will be tailored to your personal needs.

The workshop is about you – there is no set agenda, photographers of all abilities are welcome. A one-to-one tour can last from two to six hours, sometimes longer, depending on the lighting conditions and location.
Workshop prices -
2-hour workshop:  £50.00
4-hour workshop:  £65.00
6-hour workshop:  £80.00

If you would prefer to learn editing techniques in Lightroom after the shoot, this will be included within the time of the workshop. You will also be offered the opportunity (at an extra cost of £25) to print and mount your picture of the day (A4) to take home with you.

Tours are suitable for owners of all digital cameras and Paul will be more than happy to give you guidance in:
  • How to compose your image
  • The effect of camera settings: aperture, shutter speed & ISO
  • How to use your histogram in manual mode, if applicable with your type of camera.
  • The creative use of filters
  • Infrared Photography
No two courses are the same and are weather reliant, they will also be tailored to your requirements and level of experience.

Paul will have his camera equipment with him and may also be taking pictures during the tour.  You will be free to try his camera equipment, including tripod and filters.  (Nikon D800e, Nikon D7200(IR), various lens from 14mm to 600mm and Macro, Lee filters, ND grads and polariser).  This is often beneficial to those photographers who are starting out and wish to try semi-pro camera equipment.

Please be aware, Landscape Photography means getting out and about, which is usually uneven, steep, slippery and wet, as such Paul or Dyfi Cottages cannot accept any liability for injury or damage to your equipment that may be sustained during the tour.  It is also recommended that you and your equipment is fully insured for this type of activity.
