An idyllic, newly refurbished holiday cottage next to the banks of the Dovey Estuary with the classic view over Aberdovey. Built as a fisherman’s cottage in 1850, Rock Bottom offers the comfort and luxury of 21st century amenities whilst retaining many original features that give the property soul and real character.

The extensive, raised sun terrace to the rear of the cottage affords spectacular, panoramic views of Aberdovey, the estuary and out to sea. Nearby are the Cambrian Cost railway halt and the welcoming Penhelig Arms hotel and pub.

The cottage is situated in the Penhelig area of Aberdovey / Aberdyfi close to the sea, Local Park, the Old Roman Road and the small Penhelig railway halt. From here you can explore the Dovey estuary foreshore along the Old Roman Road to Picnic Island, fish off the rocks, visit the beach or just relax with the views across the estuary. Also situated nearby is the Penhelig Arms Hotel, with its excellent selection of beers, wine and outstanding restaurant.

A charming and beautiful cottage. We loved our stay here and were awestruck with the views. Thank you for making this a relaxing and enjoyable trip. I’m sure we won’t be the last to come here!

Lovely, relaxing stay in this beautiful cottage. Views are simply stunning and we have thoroughly enjoyed our week here especially a few wines on the terrace looking out at the sea.

What a relaxing week! The sun came out! Brilliant views, brilliant cottage – I’m sure we will be back.

Fantastic views to wake up to – lovely house. We had a really good week.

Great week. Really nice place. Will definitely be back. Views from every window outstanding.

Despite less than perfect June weather, we have had a wonderful time at Rock Bottom. A lovely cottage.

We thoroughly enjoyed cycling from Dogellau along a trail to Barmouth and were weather beaten as we walked from Aberystwyth.

We have had a lovely stay – cottage great and we’ve had fantastic weather. Walks on the beach have truly relaxed us, together with the golf. We would love to return sometime and thanks for such a lovely cottage.

We’ve had a great week here at Rock Bottom Cottage. Beautiful place to stay with gorgeous views plus we had fantastic weather. Spent time on the beach and explored the surrounding areas. The children loved visiting the Centre for Alternative Technology and we made good use of the games cupboard. The cottage is so lovely and we’ve enjoyed every minute.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The decor and character of the place is lovely and all of the views are stunning. We loved spending time up on the terrace enjoying the sun and it made our trip even more special staying here. Thank you so much. Hope to be back again soon.
