2 Gibraltar Terrace is a quaint seaside cottage located in the heart of Aberdovey / Aberdyfi, but away from the hustle and bustle of village life.

Situated near the Dovey Inn and Britannia Inn, conveniently close to the shops, pubs, restaurants and all amenities, 2 Gibraltar Terrace is also minutes away from the beach, jetty (for your crabbing), water sports, and beautiful mountain walks and located next to the Welsh Coastal Path.

2 Gibraltar Terrace is ideally placed for Aberdovey's / Aberdyfi's local attractions with good hill walking at your front door, a four-mile sandy beach, a championship links Aberdovey Golf Club and great places to eat and drink.

Further afield you can explore the Ynys-Hir RSPB Reserve which is a wildlife haven in the heart of Wales, made famous by the BBC Spring Watch programme, The Dyfi Osprey Project (please follow the link to watch live: http://www.dyfiospreyproject.com/live-streaming), The Ceredigion Heritage Coast along Cardigan Bay, the Cambrian Mountains and not forgetting the lakes, small towns and villages, picturesque resorts and harbours.

The cottage has been tastefully refurbished offering modern amenities, whilst retaining many of its original features which gives this delightful property its character and charm.

Sleeps 4 guests in 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom (twin beds are 2' 6)

Ground Floor

The front entrance leads directly to the dining/living room area.

Living/Dining area - A cosy living room/dining area with slate tiled floor and gas log effect fire. Two 2 seater settees and easy chair, large dining table with seating for 4, LCD Freeview TV, DVD player, Creative SoundWorks radio/CD/MP3 player. Complimentary Wi-Fi.

Kitchen - Compact fitted kitchen with electric combi- oven, induction hob, fridge with freezer compartment, washer/dryer.  Double door to small outside space with tap, hose and washing line.

Shower Room – Walk-in shower, sink and WC.

Outside Seating Area - Small front patio, ideal to sit with a cold drink and a chat after a hot sunny day on the beach. Four directors chairs and table are available which are stored inside the cottage.

Steep stairs without a handrail to the first floor. 

First Floor

Bedroom 1 - Front super king-size bed, small built-in wardrobe with hanging space, chest of drawers, 2 bedside tables.

Bedroom 2 - Rear twin bedroom (2' 6 beds), 2 bedside tables, hanging space behind the bedroom door, small sink.

Aberdyfi / Aberdovey

The picturesque harbour village of Aberdyfi / Aberdovey is renowned for its mild climate, sandy beaches, sailing and a championship 18-hole links golf course (rated in the UK's top 100). The village is often referred to as “an artist's paradise” with its pastel coloured cottages, small shops, inns and excellent restaurants which specialise in local seafood, all helping to create a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. Aberdyfi / Aberdovey boasts some of the finest beaches in Britain, with four miles of golden sand-dune backed shoreline running north to Tywyn, home of the world-famous Talyllyn narrow gauge Steam Railway, crab fishing and the famous Dyfi Donkeys. The beaches are popular with sunbathers, swimmers, surfers and fishermen while the estuary attracts a wide range of water sports enthusiasts.

The peaks of the Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy ranges are within easy reach and are complemented by the charm of the Dyfi, Dysynni and Tal y Llyn valleys nearby. An ideal area for walkers, climbers and wildlife watchers, and a wonderful all-year-round location.

Booking and Payment

For bookings made more than 8 weeks before arrival, a 30% deposit of the total cost of the holiday plus the £24 non-refundable booking fee is required at the time of booking. The balance is then due 8 weeks before the holiday commences.

For bookings made less than 8 weeks before arrival, the total amount is payable plus the £24 non-refundable booking fee at the time of booking.

Security Deposit

Security deposits are not required. Please note that guests are still liable for any damage, breakages or additional cleaning required as a result of their actions.

Arrival & Departure times

Arrival time is from 4 pm/ Departure time is no later than 10 am.

Short Breaks

Short breaks are available out of season and can be booked for a minimum of 3 nights from the following days:

  • Friday to Monday for a 3-night weekend break
  • Monday to Friday for a 4-night midweek break

During November to February arrival days may be more flexible nearer the time although these exclude Sundays and any holidays.

Bed Linen & Towels

Bed linen and towels are provided.

Heating & Electric

Heating and electric are included in the accommodation price.

Infant facilities

Sorry, there are no infant facilities available. 

Pets

Regrettably, pets are not accepted. (please note, pets have been in the property in the past, so this cottage is unsuitable for people with pet allergies).

Wi-Fi 

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available. The owner cannot guarantee the availability or speed of the service as this is dependent on third party suppliers.

Parking 

There is one free car pass provided in the cottage for the ‘pay & display’ car parks in Aberdyfi. The nearest one is 200 metres away near the beach (spaces are subject to availability). Sorry, but the owners are unable to supply additional car passes. 

Location 

Although 2 Gibraltar Terrace is away from the hustle and bustle of the village, the property is located in the centre of the village and there can be some associated noise during busier times.

Access, Health and Safety

Although the cottage is set back off the road, the path leads down to Church Street which can get quite busy. Please be mindful of cars appearing suddenly and be especially cautious when children are leaving the terrace.

There are steep drops beyond the fencing around the property, children should be supervised at all times whilst around Gibraltar Terrace.

2 Gibraltar Terrace is located at the end of a very steep path (about 20 metres long) and is unsuitable for people with limited mobility.

Please contact us immediately if there are any specific needs you may have, including disability needs. It is essential that we are given as much information as possible about your requirements to avoid booking an unsuitable property. Some locations do not lend themselves to easy access and facilities, so please ask first to avoid disappointment.

The choice is ultimately the responsibility of the person booking the property, and we cannot be held responsible should a property be booked that is unsuitable or inappropriate.

2 Gibraltar Terrace is a lovely comfortable cottage which has been beautifully modernised to a high standard, the cottage is extremely clean and tidy with a lovely relaxing feel and great rooftop views over the village.
