Can I travel to Wales on holiday?

Holiday cottages are now open in Wales, and we are happy to take bookings that comply with current guidance. Before making a booking, please ensure that you conform to the current guidelines in the place of your residence and the current Welsh Government Guidelines as it is your responsibility to comply.

During this period, it is only possible to stay in this accommodation if you are travelling as one household (or as an extended household).

People can form an extended household with up to two other households.  This means that all the people in up to three households can join to become part of a single household.  There are no restrictions on the total number of people who may form an extended household, but it must be made up of the original household.

What cleaning measures are the owners putting in place?

We have advised all our homeowners and housekeepers to follow the latest guidelines regarding their properties, paying attention to ‘touch spot’ areas such as light switches, keys, remote controls, door handles etc.

If you have any concerns, you may wish to bring additional cleaning items with you.

You will also find that the owners have removed books, games, DVDs, ornaments, scatter cushions, and throws from their properties.

 

What time can I arrive and what time can I leave?

Allowing additional time for cleaning and disinfecting to take place, does mean that we need to ask guests to check-in later (from 5 pm) and check out earlier (9.30 am).

We hope you understand that it is for the safety of you, the housekeepers, and the managers.

It is important you do not invite any other guests into the property during your stay. 

 

Is there anything I need to do on departure?

  • Please assist the housekeepers by leaving the property clean and tidy on your departure.
  • Place all used bedding & towels (if available) in the laundry bags provided.
  • Dispose of your rubbish and recycling in the outside bins or follow the owner’s instructions.
  • Please follow the housekeeping guidelines in your arrival letter.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope that you will understand and appreciate that these measures are necessary to ensure your safety, as well as the housekeeping teams and managers.  

 

What if the outgoing guests report symptoms on departure, what will happen to my holiday?

If a guest has reported symptoms on their departure before you are due to arrive, you will be unable to stay at the property. We will contact you immediately of any instance and we will work with you to arrange a change of property, transfer of dates, or a refund minus the booking fee.

Please be patient with us, this may happen on your arrival day and it is for your safety, and for the safety of the housekeepers and managers that the property is isolated before any further arrivals.

 

What if I or a party member falls ill during our stay?

If you become unwell with the symptoms of COVID-19 you must return home immediately and self-isolate following the NHS guidelines

Contact the cottage owner or their manager as soon as possible, or Dyfi Cottages.

If you are advised by the NHS to remain at the property, we will work with the owner to try and facilitate this as best we can, you will be required to pay the charges for this time.

 

Food Shopping

We recommend that your food shopping is done at home and that you bring what you need, to help you avoid busy supermarkets and local shortages. Local shops have their own guidelines in place and many small shops only allow 2 people in at one time. Please ensure you follow their rules and guidelines when entering any establishments.

 

IT IS A LEGAL REQUIREMENT TO WEAR FACE COVERINGS IN ALL INDOOR PUBLIC SPACES IN WALES

Shops – Pubs – restaurants - attractions

We cannot guarantee that all these establishments will be open during your holiday as it is not possible for us to predict the opening or availability of such amenities. Customers should always check directly with that business if these are crucial to their plans.

Whilst we are looking forward to sharing Aberdyfi and the surrounding areas with you, please be aware that during your holiday you will be expected to conform to current National and Local Government guidelines on Coronavirus – by helping us you are helping our small community!
