The village is often referred to as “an artist's paradise” with its pastel-coloured cottages, small shops, inns, and excellent restaurants which specialise in local seafood, all helping to create a welcoming atmosphere. Aberdyfi boasts some of the finest beaches in Britain, with four miles of golden sand-dune-backed shoreline running north to Tywyn, home of the world-famous Talyllyn Steam Railway and crab fishing.
The village is ideally placed to explore the stunning coastline of Cardigan Bay, and why not take a trip to the nearby thriving market town of Machynlleth considered to be the ancient capital of Wales? A little further on is The Dyfi Osprey project, an opportunity to see the magnificent bird of prey en-route to the more sedate landscape of Ynys Hir, an RSPB nature reserve. For golfers, there is the nearby Aberdyfi Golf Club rated in the top 100 within the UK and the Machynlleth Golf Club. Comments from the Visitors' Book
We loved absolutely everything about this accommodation. Firstly the level of cleanliness was outstanding. From the moment we walked into the apartment we were confident it had been cleaned thoroughly. Soft furnishings had been removed and a generous box of cleaning products was left for our use —- I didn’t know I could get excited about hand soap! definitely a sign of the times
Otago 3 is in a great location with beautiful views. The owner was really friendly and helpful. Cleanliness could not be faulted and plenty of extra cleaning products were provided which was appreciated. The apartment has everything you would need although we did rearrange the furniture a little so that the table was in front of the window to better enjoy the view with a coffee in the morning. This also made to room feel a little more spacious. The beds were really comfortable and there was no noise at night. A really restful break was enjoyed by all.
The location was fantastic. The village of Aberdovey was a great place from which to explore the area. The Dyfi Cottages phone staff were extremely helpful when I rang as I had missed the email with check-in instructions. Free parking across the road was an unexpected bonus. The apartment was comfortable and great for 2 people.
