The Nook is a quaint and compact seaside cottage located in the heart of Aberdovey / Aberdyfi, but away from the hustle and bustle of the village centre.
The cottage has been tastefully refurbished offering modern amenities, whilst retaining many of its original features which gives this delightful property its character and charm. With stunning views out over the Dyfi Estuary and the Cambrian Mountains beyond, this lovely cottage has in the past been the home to local fishermen and boat builders. The remains of boat building can still be seen on the foreshore just opposite The Nook at low tide, where there is easy access to the stony beach for a picnic on a warm sunny day
The Nook is situated near thePenhelig Arms Hotel, and only a short walk away from the Dovey Inn and Britannia Inn, shops, restaurants and all amenities. The Nook is also minutes away from the beach, jetty (for your crabbing), water sports, and beautiful mountain walks and located next to the Welsh Coastal Path.

The Nook is ideally placed for Aberdovey's / Aberdyfi's local attractions with good hill walking at your front door, a four mile sandy beach, a championship links Aberdovey Golf Club and great places to eat and drink.
Further afield you can explore the Ynys-Hir RSPB Reserve which is a wildlife haven in the heart of Wales, made famous by the BBC Spring Watch programme, The Dyfi Osprey Project (please follow the link to watch live: http://www.dyfiospreyproject.com/live-streaming), The Ceredigion Heritage Coast along Cardigan Bay, the Cambrian Mountains and not forgetting the lakes, small towns and villages, picturesque resorts and harbours.

Sleeps 3 - (4) guests with two bedrooms with double beds. However, in the front bedroom, there is only access via one side of the double bed. For more information on bed sizes please see the description under 'Second Floor'.

Ground Floor

Living/dining area - A compact living room with slate flooring. Open fireplace with enclosed gas fired log effect burner. Small dining table with 4 chairs with views overlooking the Dovey Estuary. 2 x two-seater sofas, 2 small stools, LCD TV with Freeview, DVD player, Dab radio CD.
Kitchen - Fitted kitchen, with dishwasher, fridge / freezer, freestanding electric oven and gas hob, kettle, toaster, microwave.
Outside Seating - A sunny space at the front of the cottage with a table and two chairs, (ideal to sit with a glass of wine and a chat after a hot sunny day on the beach). There is no gate on the front of the cottage and the path leads down to the main road, please ensure children are supervised at all times.
Stairs to First Floor- The steep angled stairs with a handrail lead to the first floor. May be unsuitable for those with limited mobility.
First Floor
Reception Room – With fabulous sea views through the south facing windows overlooking the Dyfi Estuary and local beach. Large sofa and two window chairs, LCD TV with DVD player and desk.
Bathroom – Bath with overhead shower, wash basin and toilet.
Second Floor
Bedroom 1 – Double bed (4ft), can be used as a double bed, however, there is only access to one side of the bed. Chest of drawers and wall hanging space.

Aberdyfi / Aberdovey
The picturesque harbour village of Aberdyfi / Aberdovey is renowned for its mild climate, sandy beaches, sailing and a championship 18-hole links golf course (rated in the UK's top 100). The village is often referred to as “an artist's paradise” with its pastel coloured cottages, small shops, inns and excellent restaurants which specialise in local seafood, all helping to create a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. Aberdyfi / Aberdovey boasts some of the finest beaches in Britain, with four miles of golden sand-dune backed shoreline running north to Tywyn, home of the world-famous Talyllyn narrow gauge Steam Railway, crab fishing and the famous Dyfi Donkeys. The beaches are popular with sunbathers, swimmers, surfers and fishermen while the estuary attracts a wide range of water sports enthusiasts.
The peaks of the Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy ranges are within easy reach and are complemented by the charm of the Dyfi, Dysynni and Tal y Llyn valleys nearby. An ideal area for walkers, climbers and wildlife watchers, and a wonderful all-year-round location.

Further information about your holiday rental
Booking and Payment - For bookings made more than 8 weeks before arrival, a 30% deposit of the total cost of the holiday plus the £24 non-refundable booking fee is required at the time of booking. The balance is then due 8 weeks before the holiday commences.
For bookings made less than 8 weeks before arrival, the total amount is payable plus the £24 non-refundable booking fee at the time of booking.
Security Deposit - Security deposits are not required at The Nook. Please note that guests are still liable for any damage or additional cleaning required as a result of their actions.
Arrival & Departure times - Arrival time is from 4pm / Departure time is no later than 10am.
Short Breaks - When and where available, they can be booked for a minimum of 3 nights from the following days:
- Friday to Monday for a 3 night week end break
- Monday to Friday for a 4 night mid week break
During November to February arrival days may be more flexible nearer the time although these exclude Sundays and any holidays.
Bed Linen & Towels- Bed linen and towels are provided and beds are made up ready for your arrival.
Heating & Electric - Heating and electric are included in the accommodation price.
Infant facilities- Sorry, there are no infant facilities available.
Pets - Maximum of one well-behaved pet welcome at an additional cost of £20 to be kept downstairs).
Wi-Fi - Complimentary Wi-Fi is available. The owner cannot guarantee the availability or speed of the service as this is dependent on third party suppliers.
Parking - There is one free car park pass provided in The Nook for the Aberdyfi ‘Pay & Display’ car park at Nantiesyn (250 meters from the cottage).The car pass can also be used in the main ‘Pay & Display’ car park next to the beach in the village. (Spaces are subject to availability)
Health and Safety- The cottage is on a steep and angled path just above the main road. There are no pavements and the road can get quite busy during peak holiday season. Please ensure children and pets are supervised at all times.
Access - Please contact us immediately if there are any specific needs you may have, including disability needs. It is essential that we are given as much information as possible about your requirements to avoid booking an unsuitable property. Some locations do not lend themselves to easy access or facilities, so please ask first to avoid disappointment. The choice is ultimately the responsibility of the person booking the property, and we cannot be held responsible should a property be booked that is either unsuitable or inappropriate.
Location - Although The Nook is not in the centre of the village, there can be some associated noise during busier times.
Photographs - In order to provide you with as much detail of the properties as possible,we sometimes use wide angle photography, which can make certain rooms or spaces appear larger than they actually are. If you have any queries regarding the size of any rooms, please do not hesitate to contact us.
